I found this game my friend told me about a few years back. Basically it's a zelda clone rogue lite called delver's drop with an on-going kickstarter. sounded like a cool idea but by 2012/2013 obviously there was a high amount of skepticism around kickstater.
well it popped into my head a while back and found some info on it, their kickstarter got funded early march of 2013 with an estimated release of FALL 2013.
That's naively fucking soon but whatever. Anyway, almost all of their outlets, twitter, reddit, kickstarter, steam greenlight, all these cancer faucets they have been absolutely silent on for two years now. They've released one beta. Obviously this isn't Star Citizen levels of scamming but I think the issue here is this wasn't an overly ambitious game whatsoever. Like, LttP with some randomization, different classes etc. And 150k to do it.
One of the additional things that made this more laughable was some comment on steam in the pictures there. They started working on this thing ~2009/2010. I also looked into this and they were working on a similar game called Delver's Mark it sounds a bit different but it was for iOS I guess. https://mobile.twitter.com/delversmark
Anyway other than this whole pipedream of a game that never game out they have actually shipped two DS games called in the moshimonsters franchise which I guess is some fucking flash game for da kids. Other than that yeah just complete and utter silence on their end, a few people on reddit making topics if the game is dead, one person saying he knows the devs and they're re-committed to being more active getting in touch with people etc.
I don't know just how many kickstarters have gone awry at this point but if mighty no. 9 is any indicator then just about anybody should at least be able to slap something together. I'm just confused I thought there was legal recourse with kickstarter if some body doesn't actually ship anything at any point it's been 5 years since they've funded their shit lol.
